Stranger in the village
The interviews with the Advisory Board was part of the exhibition “Stranger in the village” at Aargauer Kunsthaus 3. Sept 2023 - 7. Jan 2024
In his famous text Stranger in the Village, the American writer James Baldwin wrote about his experience of racism in Switzerland in the 1950s. Baldwin's words are still an inspiration for many artists today. They hold up a mirror to us as a society and have lost none of their poignancy. The group exhibition explores the themes of belonging and marginalisation using current works by artists from Switzerland and the international scene. It poses questions that concern us all.
